Okay so we hear this term in many circles, less credible ones quite often, but what are they really?
WHAT ARE THEY?
By definition they are an operation carried out by one group under the guise of another a ruse de guerre, to make the attack or incident look as if someone else did the deed. That is say if you were a bronco fan and dressed up as a Raider fan and burned down Packers stadium, people would think it was Raiders fans and not Bronco’s fans.
These type of operations can have many goals, to hurt the other but not make it look like you did it. To make the other person go to war with another by impersonating them in an attack, the attack itself is inconsequential or to get you own group to want war or hate another group by impersonating them and attacking yourself.
In the rules of land warfare it is permissible to do this, to fool the enemy as long as you rip off you “cloak” before any shots are fired, in the world of covert action however, as with much of it, normal rules don’t apply.
HISTORICAL EXAMPLES
1778 Russo-Swedish War-
Swedish military wore Russian uniforms to attack a Swedish outpost on the border on June 27, 1778. This was a pretext needed for the Swedish King to declare a war to protect the country.
1898 Spanish-American War
It is still “unproven” but most believe that the U.S. was responsible for the destruction of the USS Maine and not the Spanish Mine blamed for over a century. In 1976 naval explosive experts determined that an internal explosion was the cause, not an external one (i.e. a mine). This conclusion rests on an “accident” however the truth may never be known.
1921-1926 Soviet Union
The Soviet Intelligence agencies created organizations of resistance to the Soviet Union to bring ex-pat Monarchist/Tsarist sympathizer Russians out into the open to better be able to identify and eliminate them.
1931 China WWII
The Japanese blew up a section of their own railway and this led to the annexation of Manchuria, as well as faked a kidnapping of one of their soldiers that led to the full invasion of China. It is interesting that in most history books this is listed as “fact” while any mention of our own actions in these types of things are relegated to “conspiracy”.
1939 Poland WWII
Reinhard Heydrich faked evidence of a polish attack on Germany to sway public opinion to go to war with Poland, other similar operations were used to galvanize public opinion to bring Germany to war with Europe.
1939 Finland WWII
The Red army shelled a Russian town near the Finnish border and blamed Finland for the attack. A pretext for the “Winter War” that started 4 days later. Funny how the Red army had all their ducks in a row before a “attack” on a border town, so they were lucky they were COMPLETELY ready for an invasion just before the “unprovoked attack”.
1941 Hungary WWII
Three planes with Russian markings on them bombed a Hungarian City, which became a pretext for Hungary to join the war with Germany against the Soviet Union
1953 Iran
U.S and British Intelligence agencies paid and trained tribal leaders to start a coup against the recently elected leader of Iran Mohammed Mosaddeq.
1962 Cuba
The DOD had a plan in place to fake hijackings or shooting down US passenger or military planes, sinking an US ship and Cuban refugee ships and then blame it on Cuban infiltrators. These actions were then to be used as a pretext for an invasion of Cuba. It was approved all the way up to the chain to JFK who rejected it.
2008 South Ossetia/Georgia
The Georgian government was fighting against separatists in South Ossetia, nominally part of Georgia but bordering on Russia. The Russian government was not happy with the current Georgian administrations courting of the West and NATO. They “granted” Russian citizenship to all South Ossetians, and used that as a pretext to go to war with Georgia to “protect their citizens”.
Analysis
As you can see there is a wide variety of different types of False Flag operations from attacking ones own territory to making others “friends” and then defending them. There are thousands and probably tens of millions of other incidents throughout history that we will never know about (with a large chunk in our own history!). False flag operations are very useful to governments to sway their own public to wars of their choosing when they know, facts on the table, they wouldn’t be able to do.
FALSE FLAG IN OUR OWN TIMES
So this is where the waters get murky, and the tin foil floats to the surface because one can say THIS IS A FALSE FLAG OPERATION and point to one event or another, and it can’t be proven or disproven. For example look at 9/11, one can point to that and say THIS IS A FALSE FLAG OPERATION, while offering no evidence to support it other than here say and circumstantial at best. This is NOT to say that it is NOT a false flag operation, a successful one is measured by whether it is seen as being done by another, and a perfect false flag offers no proof to the contrary, so its impossible to say.
Could 9/11 have been one? Yes, could it have not? Yes
That’s the trouble with these types of things, in my opinion the U.S. government is very good at these types of things, on occasion, and very bad as well, as can be seen in the Bay of Pigs operation, not everything works out in their favor every time. The problem is also that there ARE legitimate attacks on this country that have happened and will happen that is out of the control of those who would do things such as this. But the legitimate distrust we have for our government makes everything seem “boy who cried wolf” this is their own fault and is one of the greatest tragedies of our former republic and what it stood for. We can no longer believe what they say EVER because their track record cannot allow for any sort of trust.
In my opinion 9/11 (i know ive been going off on this particular subject, but it is one of the biggest events in the last 3 decades in this country) was not conducted by the U.S. government. I believe that something of this magnitude would have to involve a decent amount of people, it couldn’t have been a team of just a few handpicked folks, one of them would have talked or produced evidence by now. I however lend credence to the belief that it COULD have been like many believe Pearl Harbor to be, something that was known before and allowed to happen. This is completely plausible to me, that It was known this was going to happen, in the works and about to happen and it was ALLOWED to happen, not CONDUCTED.
Moving on, I feel that another false flag that was discovered and not entirely uncovered was Operation Fast and Furious, the gunrunning scandal that has led to nothing in particular. I believe it was intended to move guns from the U.S. to the Mexican cartels to be used in shootings and other illegal activities and then be used, along with other things, as a pretext to put into effect the gun bans we are seeing today. I believe the evidence of Mexican cartels using weapons bought in the U.S. was to be held back, the involvement of our government erased and then when another psycho did something bad part of the argument would be “Criminal organizations and not just individuals have used guns bought legally in the U.S. to commit atrocities, look at the evidence we have here of Cartels using these weapons….” so the link would be made to not just the lone psycho but the criminal organizations, a RICO of the industry.
It is ridiculous of course, since you always see the cartels will full auto M4′s which aren’t sold willy nilly out of gun stores but are stolen and bought from mexican Army and Police (sold to them by the U.S. government mind you). It always amazes me when they show some cartel goon in Tijuana with an M4 blasting away and somehow link that to U.S. gun stores across the border, if it was a weapon bought in the U.S. it was then converted over the border putting new lower receivers and bolt carrier groups FROM full auto M4′s bought by the U.S. government…anyways done with that.
I believe that the next false flag operation, or one that is goaded and allowed to happen by the government will be on the internet. There will be info that comes down that identifies a threat to the power grid or some other important grid in our system, or one that is perpetrated by people under the direction of the government itself. This will shut down power for days/weeks or blows water systems or something along those lines coming off the internet. This will then trigger an immediate response in policy makers making the rounds on talk shows talking about how we need more “Safety” and “Security” on the internet. That we need to eliminate being “anonymous” on the net, and log where people go to make sure “this never happens again”. They couldn’t get SOPA through or other chains on the users there before, they need a “event” an Internet “Sandy Hook” to make us feel scared and need to put on more chains for “security”.
With the internet is has made false flags that much more difficult to conduct, A LOT of information is out there now, people can talk quickly and exchange information, this was something not foreseen by those who wish to control us. This is why it HAS TO BE SHUT DOWN. not turned off but controlled.
You can make up your own mind about False Flag operations, I wouldn’t deem to tell you what to believe, but you have to consider a few things.
Dont attribute EVERYTHING to Big Brother, they are crafty, but not omnipotent and are not soothsayers.
Being aware doesn’t mean being anxiety ridden, even if, for the sake of argument 9/11 was an inside job, what does that truly matter to us in our preparedness? If 9/11 WAS an inside job, I’m going to continue to prepare, if it WASN’T I’m going to continue to prepare.
Be aware, be intelligent, but be rational and logical. Don’t destroy your life and relationships to try to prove the unprovable to others around you. Be Prepared, but be smart.
Interesting take on Fast and Furious…
That said, remember that at the center of every false flag operation there is a conspiracy and conspiracies only work if people keep secrets…which they pretty much don’t…now more than ever.
True thats why I dont necessarily believe any of the 9/11 Truth type stuff, something of that magnitude…government is insidious but not that efficient. With Fast and Furious my conjecture and defense against the “people cant keep secrets” was that the true reason as i stated was mainly a internal DOJ holder type thing, while the plan was pitched within the ATF as it has been pitched in the media since it was uncovered, a gun running operation to somehow track guns to cartels. If you wrap the hidden reason in a lie, convince people who are doing it the reason for it IS the lie, then thats all they know. I agree if Fast Furious had been a “lets go after the 2nd ammendment by making it look like american guns are flowing like a river over the southern border, etc” it would have leaked by now in a big way, and long before it did. For a good conspiracy to keep, one has to convince those doing it that they are doing it for a different reason.
